Thistle Install Major Fire Wall in Bonded Warehouse

Demonstrating the ability of its Interiors Division to take on large scale industrial projects, Thistle Systems has installed over 2000 square metres of 2 hour fire rated walls to form a new bonded warehouse facility for a major Scottish distiller.

The broad range of services that is offered by the Thistle Systems Group incorporates storage equipment, mezzanine floors and interior fit outs and as such has made the company a key player in the industrial fit out market.

Working directly with the landlord of the warehouse and to the specifications laid out by the design team, Thistle Systems carried out the installation to the same high standards normally associated with its interior fit out projects and backed by the company’s zero defect guarantee.

The walls were constructed from metal framework with a sheet of 15mm Fireline board on top of 2 layers of 19mm core board to provide up to 2 hours fire protection. The existing steel columns were also clad with 12.5mm Fireline board and Thistle created a 1200mm overhang to provide fire protection to the roof area.
