Thistle Interiors Make Their Mark On College Health and Beauty Spa
When Clydebank College were looking to create a fully functional spa to be used as a commercial venture providing advanced training for their health and beauty students, they asked Thistle Systems to assist with a key element of space planning.
Thistle's storage team had been working with the college's facilities manager to provide the full range of storage equipment for their new £34million campus and when they had issues with the way in which they had initially planned to partition the areas, they were able to call on the expert advice of Thistle's interiors division.
The initial design featured standard 1800mm high free standing screens with protruding feet that created a potential trip hazard in what was already a particularly tight area.
Working with the College's facilities manager, Thistle developed a solution that not only removed the trip hazard but also enhanced the ambience of the environment with a modern cabled system that featured a printed graphic.
Thistle designed and installed 12 panels to provide a perfect balance of privacy and light levels whilst delivering a solution that would not look out of place in a luxury hotel spa.
Project Manager Stephen McCormick explained, "Thistle's combination of experience and expertise in delivering storage and interiors solutions is unique in the industry and enables clients to deal with a single supplier who can provide an integrated solution with of course economies of scale."
He continued, "The printed Perspex panels that we used were a breath of fresh air to the original plans and have provided a real touch of class to this excellent facility."
