Thistle Systems Transform City Centre Premises

Thistle Systems has taken the main contractor role as it completely refurbished two retail stores in Stirling to create a new dental surgery and retail outlet on behalf of property developer, PPD and working in conjunction with AHA Architects.

Thistle secured the contract to strip the existing premises back to the bare shell, which included removing the existing asbestos roofing before installing a steel sub frame and over cladding the structure with Kingspan insulated roof and wall panels.

Thistle also installed the curtain walling to front facade of the retail and the dental surgery and finished the externalworks by reinstating walkways and kerbing, carrying out landscaping and installing barrier rails, pedestrian bollards and aco drains to the front of the building.

Internally, the retail unit was finished with kitchen and bathroom facilities as well as creating the necessary warehouse section in preparation for the shop fitting company to carry out the rest of the works.

Thistle took full responsibility for the fit out of the dental surgery including all partitioning with oak veneer doors, new kitchen units with a Corian work top and full hot and cool air conditioning to the treatment rooms, reception and staff areas.

To meet the high specifications of the treatment rooms, Thistle installed specialised drainage systems, water supplies and suction waste required for the dental chairs as well as carrying out the flooring and decoration throughout.
