Thistle Systems has enabled Dumfries and Galloway Occupational Health Service to increase the capacity of its medical record storage whilst halving the floor space previously used.

Thistle was able to demonstrate its expertise in developing medical record storage solutions by replacing over 30 four drawer filing cabinets with just 12 bays of full height static shelving and in doing so boost the capacity using a fraction of the floor space.

Sales Director, Alan Scott, explained “The client had already received quotes for a mobile system prior to Thistle getting involved but it was clear from our first visit that the floor construction was in no way strong enough to carry the weight of a mobile system.”

He continued, “Whilst a mobile system would have provided even more capacity in the allocated area, it simply wasn’t possible without spending significant amounts of money on strengthening the floor. Our solution delivered all the objectives the client was after and cost less than the mobile system.”
