Thistle Invest in Latest Electronic Health and Safety Management System
Codenamed ThistleSafe, the new system has been custom designed to provide Thistle with a comprehensive management solution to every aspect of the company's policies, procedures, training and auditing requirements and will provide the foundation for even further growth. Designed in conjunction with a leading construction safety consultant, the ThistleSafe system not only enhances the current rigorous systems employed by the company, but also provides a critical audit trail, a clear plan for company training requirements and a systemised, well documented assessment process for sub contractors. Thistle's Project Health and Safety Manager who commissioned and manages the ThistleSafe system, Stewart MacDonald, explained "Health and safety is a critical element of our service both during and after our role in the project however we felt that it was not enough just to have an unblemished record which is simply a historical view of how well we have performed." He continued, "We wanted to create a system that was at the very heart of the company to provide every one of our stakeholders, from clients to employees and through to suppliers, with a transparent view of what Thistle Systems Group stands for and the standards we expect." The company launched the ThistleSafe System on 1st March 2010 and is already seeing direct benefits with an enhanced focus on project delivery by all parties, as well as saving significant amounts of time at the tendering and project planning stages through its electronic filing system.
