Mobile Shelving Servicing Contract With National Archives Secured

Thistle Systems has secured the contract to carry out the servicing and repairs for the mobile shelving systems in the National Archives of Scotland

The National Archives of Scotland  has been responsible for managing the archives of the Scottish government since the 12th century, along with private records created by businesses, landed estates, families, courts, churches and other corporate bodies.

Mobile shelving plays a key role in the storage of Scotland's archives and the organisation has no fewer than 87 rooms across 3 locations with mobile shelving systems. To further complicate things, the organisation has mobile shelving systems from 5 different manufacturers however they were keen to only appoint one company to provide the service contract.

Project Manager, John Balfour, explained "The NAS contains the largest archive system in the country and it is therefore a testament to the skills and experience of the Thistle Systems team that they have awarded this business critical contract."

Thistle Systems were invited to tender for the contract after demonstrating their commitment to awesome customer service by responding rapidly to an issue with 2 mobile systems which required immediate assessment and repair.

Thistle's service team were on site within 24 hours to assess the systems and despite being faced with a mobile shelving system that was no longer manufactured, the team were able to have a custom part made and installed within 3 working days.
