Retro Fit of Racking With Upright Adapters

The enormous benefits of dynamic racking solutions can be harnessed by every company as demonstrated by this retro fit of upright adapters in this distribution centre.

Working with the existing double deep static pallet racking bays previously supplied by another manufacturer, 5 straight flow shelves were installed to replace the 2 low level picking areas for smaller items.

The upper racking areas remained as the buffer positions for additional stock and flow shelves were manually filled from the back using the forklift to access the pallets.

The retro fit of the upright adapters and the flow shelves enabled the automatic presentation of the goods at the picking side which reduced order picking times and drastically reduced the travel times.
