Uni-Levering Productivity and Storage Capacity

Unilever has incorporated our pallet live system in one of their major European distribution centres to deliver an automated storage solution which maximises both storage capacity and productivity.

The Unilever installation features an automated stacker crane which picks the goods from the static buffer on top and then places them on roller conveyors. The pallet then moves smoothly to the picking face where the individual units are picked manually with the help of order picking vehicles.

Thistle’s Managing Director, Mike Cairns, explained, “This superb system provides a high density FIFO storage solution that is served by automated service vehicles with a high operating frequency to ensure that all product lines are constantly available.”

He continued, “By integrating the solution with the warehouse management system, the Unilever team can also benefit from permanent stock control.”
