Thistle Systems has demonstrated its ability to design and supply the innovative storage solutions its renowned for and be competitively priced, with the completion of the Motherwell College project which Thistle won via competitive tender beating off some major UK suppliers in the process.

Thistle worked closely with the Estates Manager at the college to design, manufacture and install the storage facilities for virtually every department in the college including the automotive department, the engineering workshop and the hairdressing and beauty departments.

Using all of Thistle's experience in the education sector, their project team developed custom designed solutions featuring the company's longspan and heavy duty shelving with specific layouts and accessories to maximise storage capacity and accessibility.

Thistle's Sales Director, Alan Scott, explained "We have worked with the majority of colleges in Scotland and understand the types of products being stored and the requirements of each department."

He continued, " So when it came to the engineering workshops, we were able to specify the various small parts storage that can transform the capacity of the storage solution. We also used our experience in the Automotive sector, which has helped the likes of BMW, to create an efficient storage system for the student mechanics."

With over 20,000 students and over 530 members of staff to support, Motherwell College's significant office services department including finance and HR which demands an efficient and effective storage solution for their files and general office storage.

Thistle not only designed and supply a range of office storage solutions solutions with the capacity and accessibility that meet the needs of the various departments, the company also relocated an existing mobile shelving system.

And to demonstrate Thistle's ability to deliver the full storage solution, the company also supplied Motherwell College with just under 300 heavy duty lockers and benches that were carefully selected to withstand the daily demands that come with student life.
